چکیده
The female flowers of the Humulus lupulus plant or Hops have been used extensively within brewing industry for their aroma and bitterness properties. It was also found that beer contained hops less likely to spoil, thus revealing antimicrobial potential these plants. One species bacteria, Mycobacterium spp., is particular interest as it causative agent both human animal forms tuberculosis (TB). In this study an aqueous extraction process employed analyse antibacterial properties 50 hop extracts (45 individual variants); against M. bovis BCG. Using agar well diffusion assay we all exhibited a level inhibitory activity which ranged from 1.2 mm (+/? 0.08 mm) in case variant; Target, 15.7 0.45 variant Citra. Citra had minimum concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) 16% v/v. This first wide range BCG recommends further research focuses on other Mycobacteria synergy effect components.

متن کاملViral booster vaccines improve Mycobacterium bovis BCG-induced protection against bovine tuberculosis.
Previous work with small-animal laboratory models of tuberculosis has shown that vaccination strategies based on heterologous prime-boost protocols using Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) to prime and modified vaccinia virus Ankara strain (MVA85A) or recombinant attenuated adenoviruses (Ad85A) expressing the mycobacterial antigen Ag85A to boost may increase the protective effic...
متن کاملField evaluation of the efficacy of Mycobacterium bovis BCG vaccine against tuberculosis in goats
BACKGROUND Control of animal tuberculosis (TB) through vaccination has emerged as a long-term strategy to complement test and slaughter control strategy. A pilot trial under field conditions was conducted in a goat herd with high TB prevalence to assess the efficacy of the Mycobacterium bovis BCG vaccine. RESULTS Twenty-three goat kids vaccinated with BCG and other 22 unvaccinated control kid...
متن کاملNew prenylchalcones from the hops of Humulus lupulus.
Two new prenylchalcones, xanthohumol C and D, together with two known prenylchalcone derivatives, xanthohumol (1) and 5''-(2''-hydroxyisopropyl)-dihydrofurano-[2'',3''-b]-4,4'-dihydroxy-6'-methoxy-chalcone (4) were isolated and identified from the hops of Humulus lupulus L. The structures of xanhohumol C and D were elucidated as 5''-hydroxy-6'',6''-dimethyl-dihydropyrano-[2'',3''-b]-4,4'-dihydr...
متن کاملEnhancing the protective efficacy of Mycobacterium bovis BCG vaccination against tuberculosis by boosting with the Mycobacterium tuberculosis major secretory protein.
Tuberculosis continues to ravage humanity, killing 2 million people yearly. Most cases occur in areas of the world to which the disease is endemic, where almost everyone is vaccinated early in life with Mycobacterium bovis BCG, the currently available vaccine against tuberculosis. Thus, while more-potent vaccines are needed to replace BCG, new vaccines are also needed to boost the immune protec...
